Broaduro
Broaduro had its origins in type explorations based on cigar branding from the Caribbean region. Its skeleton is based on Morris Fuller Benton’s typeface Broadway (think of the Miami Vice logo). What I ended up with was a Latin-flavored take on Broadway, a sort of calligraphic Art Deco design. Outline, inset, and engraved stroke layers were incorporated as a reference to the cigar box and cigar label influences that inspired the project in the first place.
